I did work experience at One2Call - here's what I learned.

 Hi, I’m Max.

I did my work experience at One2Call recently. I went out for a day with an installations engineer, and then spent a few days with the marketing team.

They asked me to do a video asking other members of staff about their work experience.

Here it is:

At the end of the week they also asked me to answer a few questions about my experience. Here's what I've taken away from it, after only 5 days

What did you expect before you arrived… and what was actually different?

To be honest, I expected a stressful office, but it is more calm with good banter, which is obviously good

What’s one thing you learned here that you didn’t expect to learn?

Probably just how a workplace functions and how people collaborate and work well together

What was your favourite thing you got involved in (and why)?

I enjoyed filming the videos about other peoples work experience because there was some entertaining stories and it helped with my confidence

What did you find challenging, and how did you deal with it?

I felt a little awkward being the youngest in the office, but I was just overthinking and I got over it in the end.

If another student was thinking about doing work experience here, what would you tell them?

I would just say to be yourself, get on with your work when you need to, and I’d say that people are there to help and welcome you

After working at One2call, I would recommend it to people who need a placement for work experience, the team is friendly and welcoming!
