Every great business starts with a vision, and for One2Call, that vision began in 2007 with Managing Director, Nick Bass. Nearly two decades later, Nick continues to drive the company forward, ensuring that One2Call continues to support ambitious business across his native Sheffield and beyond.
Can you introduce yourself and what you do at One2Call?
"I'm Nick and I'm the Managing Director at One2Call, and I've been here since the very beginning in 2007. My role involves working with every department and team in the business to make sure everything runs smoothly and in the same direction, and ensuring that products, operations, and customer experiences consistently exceed our expectations."
What's your favourite thing about working at One2Call?
"My favourite aspect (of the job) is the variety. I get to work with all departments, all team members and our lovely customers. I've also loved seeing the business grow. If you told me 18 years ago that we'd be working with the likes of ITV, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and restaurant chains like Frankie and Benny's and Bella Italia, I'd have thought you were mad!"
What lessons have you learned from working at One2Call?
"I would say that we learned quite early on that you have to take some level of risk to achieve your goals."
What's the first thing you do when you start work?
"Say hello and, make a coffee. Just an instant. Nescafé."
What would you be doing if you didn't work at One2Call?
"That's a tough one cos working in I.T. and telecoms is all I've done since leaving school! So, yeah, I can't see myself doing anything else, to be honest.
I would say I'd like to be an astronaut though. I'd like to see, Earth from space."
