Anti-Virus & Anti-Spam

Every time you or any of your colleagues click or tap, they could be about to let a virus or malicious actor into your business. Which is why it is so important to have the right protection. Our Endpoint Detection & Response, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam solutions work together to reduce the risk to your business from cyber crime.

Anti-Virus is like a sentry guarding entry points. It scans everything coming in and out of your device to make sure it’s not a threat. This can be emails, files and links coming in, or websites you’re trying to access. Endpoint Detection and Response elivates that protection in real time by constantly looking for malicious and unusal behaviour to block it in it’s tracks.

Anti-Spam helps keep you safe and makes you more efficient. Malevolent spam comes in the form of phishing attacks. These emails don’t carry the kind of direct threat an antivirus would detect. They seek to persuade you to behave in a certain way, such as sending them money. Distracting spam comes in the form of emails you don’t want and never asked for. Antispam detects and quarantines spam and phishing emails to keep you safe and your inbox uncluttered.

Using the right business-grade Cyber Security solution gives strong first-line protection against cybercriminals.

Did you know?

Signature Based Anti-Virus alone can only protect your business 25-40% of malware at any given time?

Anti-Virus

Traditional Anti-Virus is becoming out dated, find out why Anti-Virus may no longer be enough to protect your business from the latest threats and why Endpoint Detection and response is the evolution of your business cyber security.

Is free anti-virus enough?

Is anti-virus alone enough?

For the longest time, any Anti-Virus was better than no anti-virus at all. However, even the best signature based anti-virus is only 25-40% effective against the latest cyber security threats. Cyber Threats are evolving on a daily basis, as such you need a security solution that can evolve with the ever evolving threats, Endpoint Detection & Response is designed to protect against these evolving syber security threats by using artificial inteligence to detect unusual or threatening behavior or actions.

Why did my PC get slower when I installed my current antivirus?

Many anti-virus softwares use your PC to store all the information (or signatures) and do all the processing needed to scan for viruses. This can use a large amount of storage space, which can slow your PC. Our solution does the majority of it’s processing in the cloud, meaning the client uses just 15MB of your storage space. That’s the same as a single photograph.

Why do virus scans take so long?

Why do virus scans take so long?

When a scan starts, many anti-virus softwares have to download all the latest threat definitions (or signatures) first, and then use your PC’s processing power to run the comparison. This is usually done on regular intivals throughout the day. By comparission, Endpoint Detection & Response looks for malicious, threatening or unusual activity in real time. meaning that you do not have to run scans, EDR will automatically detect activity before traditional signature based anti-virus could detect.

Anti-Spam

Spam email contains two types of threat; threat to your cybersecurity and threat to your productivity.

The cybersecurity threat comes in the form of phishing emails. These emails seek to obtain valuable information such as personal data or bank details through deception. This could be by mimicking your bank, a personal plea from a friends’ hacked email account, or a scam like the famous Nigerian Prince deception.

The productivity threat comes from an overwhelming amount of unneeded and unsolicited emails in your inbox. Even filling in an online form for a good reason can lead to a deluge of unwanted sales contact. Often our email addresses are traded amongst online spammers. Whatever the reason, unwanted email can stop us seeing the emails we need to see, such as customer contact.

How Anti-Spam helps your business.

How Anti-Spam helps your business.

Antispam scans and interprets the content of your inbound emails to determine if it’s an email you need to see. Lists of known spam email and IP addresses are kept constantly up to date and are used to reject emails at source. The content of the email and its attachments are scanned for spam-related words and phrases with suspicious emails being quarantined.

Where the sender’s intention is unclear, such as an unsolicited sales email, the email is quarantined and you are notified. You can review the email safely without any risk of contamination. If it’s an email you recognise and trust, you can release it to your inbox. If it’s something you don’t want you can block the email, the sender of the entire domain.
