"I'd love to work in forensics or in a morgue or something. I've always been fascinated by that kind of thing!"

The HR whizz that keeps the cogs turning

The HR department is the backbone of all companies. Niamh has been with One2Call now for over 8 years, progressing up through the ranks to the role of HR Coordinator, and continues to support the team with as much pride as when she first joined us.

Can you introduce yourself and describe your job role in one sentence?

"I'm Niamh, I'm the HR coordinator, and I've been here for about eight years. I look after things all people related. From recruitment to onboarding, staff incentives, and just keeping everyone updated with what's happening in the company."

Can you describe your job role in one sentence?

"This is a really boring one. I literally just come in, check my emails, check my Teams messages, and I just work out my to-do list for that day - I prioritise it that way."

How does your job role directly impact our customers?

"Even though I don't directly deal with customers, I think keeping staff engaged and happy naturally reflects when they are speaking to customers."

What is your favourite aspect of your job?

"It's definitely the variety. I love that no two days are the same. Every day is different."

What part of your job do you find most rewarding?

"So it's definitely hiring people. I absolutely love ringing people and telling them that they've got the job."

What's a challenge you've overcome at work?

"I'm actually doing a HR apprenticeship at the minute, so I think the main thing that I've overcome is managing my workload and my learning load, and just managing my time around that because obviously they're both important, but they’ve both normally got the same deadline too."

If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be?

"I don't think I actually would. I really love my job. Unless being, like, a rich housewife counts - then I'd swap with them."

If you weren't working in this field, what would you be doing instead?

"This is a bit of a random one, but I'd love to work in forensics or in a morgue or something. I've always been fascinated by that kind of thing."
