We’re expanding our cloud offering with Amazon Web Services (AWS), giving our customers more choice when it comes to the technology behind their business.
Alongside our existing Microsoft partnership, adding AWS means we can support businesses using Microsoft Azure, AWS or both. It’s an important step in our growth plans as we continue to support customers across more of their technology.
Why AWS?
We want to help customers choose the platform that works best for them. That means understanding their business, looking at what they already use and giving them advice based on what they need.
Ofcom’s 2023 cloud market study found that AWS and Microsoft together accounted for 70-80% of UK cloud infrastructure revenues in 2022. Being able to support both means we can help customers across two of the biggest platforms in the market.
It also strengthens our independence. If Azure is the best fit for your business, we’ll support that. If AWS makes more sense, we can help there too. And for many businesses, the strongest answer is both. Running key systems across two cloud platforms means that if one has an outage, the other can keep you going: Azure backing up AWS, or AWS backing up Azure. It’s a practical way to build real resilience into your IT, and we can help you plan it, set it up and manage it.
To formalise the partnership, as pictured above, our Managing Director Nick Bass and Sales Director Owen Hanley recently met with Laura Guy, AWS Greenfield Executive, and Adrian Kennedy, Partner Development Manager, at Ingram Micro, the UK distributor of AWS Enterprise services.
Commenting on the partnership, Owen said:
“Our focus is on helping customers choose the technology that works best for their business. Becoming an AWS Partner alongside our existing Microsoft partnership formalises that approach and gives customers more choice."
“Whether they already use AWS, rely on Azure or are considering both, we can help them understand their options and make a decision based on their needs and budget.”
More ways to keep your business running
One question we’re hearing more often from customers is how they can make their systems more resilient without losing the features their teams rely on.
Supporting AWS and Azure gives us more ways to help answer that.
For some businesses, using both platforms could form part of a plan to reduce reliance on one provider. For others, the right approach may be to improve the setup they already have.
The starting point is understanding what would happen if a key system became unavailable. What would your team need to keep working? How quickly would you need to recover? And which applications and data would you need first?
Those answers help us recommend a practical approach that fits your business and budget. Simply using two platforms won’t guarantee resilience; the setup needs to be properly designed, managed and tested.
Supporting your next steps
Adding AWS is part of our wider plan to support customers across their technology, with advice that takes the whole business into account.
You might already use AWS, have an established Azure environment or be unsure where to start. Wherever you are, we can help you understand your options and decide what makes sense for your business.
